Prizemoney boosts for Scone

In a major boost for NSW country racing, more than $2 million in prizemoney will be on offer during Scone’s showcase two-day carnival in May.

All races on the Saturday card will be worth a minimum $75,000 and the feature Dark Jewel Classic (1400m) will rise $25,000 to $200,000.

The Inglis 3YO Guineas (1400m) will carry a $500,000 purse due to bonuses from the Inglis Race Series not being won.

There will also be an additional black-type race with the $120,000 Prydes EasiFeed Quality (1100m) upgraded to Listed status this year.

The carnival will be held on May 18 and 19 with the Scone Cup the feature on the opening day and the Dark Jewel and Inglis Guineas headlining Saturday’s program.
