Warner top scores in Sunrisers IPL win

David Warner has top scored for Sunrisers Hyderabad to help the side to a 15-run victory over the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

The Australian big-hitter came in at number four and put on 65 in 51 balls, firing off four sixes, and smashing an above-waist no-ball straight into umpire Kumar Dharmasena’s shoulder.

He was eventually sent packing off a Corey Anderson ball in the 19th over after sending a thick edge to keeper C M Gautam.

Compatriot Adam Finch earlier got Hyderabad’s innings off to a quick start after Mumbai won the toss and sent the Sunrisers in to bat.

He was caught for 16 after a 15-ball stay, with fellow Aussie Ben Dunk taking the catch with a jump at cover.

Chasing a total of 176 and looking for Mumbai’s first win of the season, Dunk was under pressure as he opened for the defending champions, and managed 20 off 17 balls.

Mumbai’s number five Kieron Pollard put 78 on the board, but it wasn’t enough to pull out a win, and the side finished 7-157.

The two-point win lifts Hyderabad to sixth place in the IPL standings, while Mumbai remain in last-place eighth.
