Gold Coast have been given a boost on the eve of their NRL clash against South Sydney with halves pair Aidan Sezer and Albert Kelly completing training.
Sezer had been a massive doubt for Saturday’s match after failing to train all week due to an injured ankle.
But the five-eighth took part in Friday’s final training run in Robina alongside Kelly, who appears to have recovered from the leg injury he sustained in the Titan’s last match against Wests Tigers.
Titans coach John Cartwright said he expects both his halves to play against the Rabbitohs after proving their fitness.
“They did the whole session, first one for the week, so that’s very pleasing,” he said.
“Barring any hiccups between now and game time, they should be okay.”
It was initially feared halfback Kelly had broken his leg during the Tigers’ clash.
Scans did show a hairline fracture but Cartwright said he has no worries about throwing Kelly into the fray against Souths.
“The thing that held him back a big was a severe cork,” he said.
“He’s got a precautionary guard. There is a chance with any injury that you have, of re-injuring it … it’d have to be a freakish sort of accident.”
