Former teacher Anthony Don has been rewarded with a new two-year NRL deal from the Gold Coast.
Don did not make his NRL debut until round six last year at the age of 25 after working as a PE teacher.
But the winger has impressed enough in his 21 games in the top grade – in which he has scored 11 tries – to earn a contract extension.
“I’m really happy to know I have two more seasons with the Titans who gave me the opportunity to play in the NRL at a relatively late age,” Don said.
“I feel I have developed and learnt a lot being part of the full-time squad in the past year and a bit and I believe we have the team to get us to the finals, with depth right across the park.”
