West Coast wingman Matt Rosa is set to re-sign with the Eagles in the coming weeks, saying he’s keen to finish his AFL career as a one-club player.
Rosa, the No.29 pick from the 2004 national draft, will notch his 150-game milestone in Saturday’s western derby against Fremantle.
The 27-year-old has been in hot form this season, averaging 25.3 possessions per game.
In Sunday’s win over St Kilda, Rosa tallied a game-high 37 disposals.
As an unrestricted free agent, Rosa can move to the club of his choice at the end of the year.
He has already attracted interest from a host of Melbourne-based clubs eager to add a classy wingman to their ranks.
But the Victorian is keen to stay at the Eagles, saying he feels like the club is on the verge of something special.
“I’ve indicated to the club that I’d like to be a one-club player. So, yeah, hopefully it gets sorted,” Rosa said on Monday.
“It could be this week, it could be three or four weeks. That’s why I’ve got a manager. He’s handling all that.
“I am really enjoying my time at the footy club at the moment. It’s probably the most I have enjoyed my footy for a long time.”
The Eagles are set to be bolstered by the return of Dean Cox for Saturday’s match at Patersons Stadium.
West Coast have won two straight games to get themselves back into the finals mix, but they still sit two wins adrift of eighth spot.
