Victorian race caller Greg Miles has announced his retirement after more than three decades and a record 36 Melbourne Cups.
Miles told RSN927 he thought the time was right and he wanted to go out while he was still on top.
He says he will work out his contract which expires in June unless a replacement is found before then.
