Gold Coast have had a dramatic start to the historic AFL match in Shanghai, with defender Rory Thompson injured in the warm-up.
Thompson, who was returning from a quad muscle injury, hurt a hamstring only minutes before the opening bounce against Port Adelaide.
Keegan Brooksby was called out of an official function to take Thompson’s place in the side.
