Melbourne are after redemption in their Anzac Eve AFL blockbuster against Richmond.

It will be the fourth year that the two clubs have met in the April 24 night match at the MCG.

Last year the fixture hit critical mass, with the crowd skyrocketing to more than 85,000 after high 50,000s at the previous two Anzac Eve clashes.

The stakes will rarely be higher for Melbourne this season, given the occasion and what happened in round four.

All the old questions about Melbourne’s credentials were exposed, thanks to a terrible 67-point loss to Hawthorn.

After leading by 21 points in the first quarter, the Demons were awful.

They made three unforced changes, dropping Sam Frost, Tom Bugg and newcomer Bayley Fritsch.

Jordan Lewis has a broken hand, while Billy Stretch, Dom Tyson, Jayden Hunt and Sam Weideman are the inclusions.

“It’s one of those weeks, probably as a coach you don’t need to really worry about the players’ attitude,” Lewis said on AFL360.

He broke his hand and is upset at missing this week, particularly given Lewis also could not play in the same game last year because of suspension.

“It was one of those games that I pencilled in, that I’d love to play,” he said.

“When they turn the lights out (pre-game), it’s such a great buzz … you want to play in those big games.”

Richmond made three forced changes, losing Jack Graham (suspension), Nick Vlastuin (calf) and Josh Caddy (hamstring soreness).

Nathan Broad is in the senior team for the first time this regular season, after serving his club suspension.

Sam Lloyd and exciting newcomer Jack Higgins are the other recalls.
