Sydney Roosters prop Dylan Napa looks set to land in hot water after leading with his head in a tackle which left Andrew McCullough concussed.
Napa was sin-binned in the 24th minute of Saturday’s NRL clash at Allianz Stadium for an incident which was almost identical to one which left Brisbane’s Korbin Sims with a broken jaw in May.
McCullough was taken from the field on a medicab with a concussion and has been ruled out for the rest of the game.
Sims missed four matches after being hit by Napa in round 11, however the Roosters front-rower was not charged for that incident.
NRL CEO Todd Greenberg later said the Queensland forward should have been cited by the match review committee.
It also prompted an angry response from Broncos coach Wayne Bennett who accused Napa of showboating.
Napa later pleaded his innocence, saying he didn’t intend to lead with his head.
