Melbourne Storm supported to win 2012 NRL Grand Final

Melbourne is attracting the large majority of early support to win Sunday’s NRL Grand Final with Sportingbet Australia punters who have heavily backed the Storm from $1.91 into $1.80 firm favourites.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said the Bulldogs have been friendless in betting.

“Nearly 70% of all head to head bets have been for Melbourne so far and the Bulldogs have drifted from $1.91 out to $2.05,” Sullivan said.

“We’ve already taken a handful of five figure bets on the Storm and plenty of four figure wagers too and I’m expecting some big bets to come as the week progresses.”

Meanwhile punters are already snapping up the $2 on offer for Manly and NSW assistant coach Matt Parish to be the next coach of the Wests Tigers.

“Punters are following reports Parish has been linked to the Tigers and seem happy to take the even money,” Sullivan said.

Melbourne assistant Kevin Walters is a $3 second favourite ahead of ‘any other’ at $4 and Steve Georgallis and Nathan Brown both at $6.
