ARLC approves NRL no-fault stand down rule

The ARL Commission has approved the rules surrounding its no-fault stand down policy, under which St George Illawarra star Jack de Belin will be formally banned from the NRL.

De Belin’s fight to overturn the decision returns on Thursday to the Federal Court, where it’s expected he will seek an injunction to continue playing.

However, AAP understands he will not play for the Dragons in their season-opening game against North Queensland anyway.

The back-rower has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges laid in December but is still training with the side and will be able to continue doing so for the duration of any stand down.
