AFL suspends Hawk Stratton for two weeks

Hawthorn captain Ben Stratton is banned for two games after he pleaded guilty to his charges at the AFL tribunal.

Stratton was referred directly to Tuesday’s tribunal for serious misconduct over his repeated pinching of Essendon opponent Orazio Fantasia and also separately for stomping Shaun McKernan.

The Hawks argued for fines as penalties, but the jury took 10 minutes to decide on one-game bans for the two offences.
