Frenchman Gael Monfils has set up a semi-final match against top-seed Rafael Nadal at the Canadian Open in Montreal, outlasting 10th-seeded Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain 6-4 3-6 7-6 (7-2).

The match had been suspended on Friday night because of lighting, with Monfils finally finishing off Agut after a rain delay on Saturday.

The 16th-seed was headed back to the court on Saturday night to play Nadal.

In the all-Russian first semi-final, sixth-seeded Karen Khachanov faced eighth-seeded Daniil Medvedev.
