GWS veteran Brett Deledio admits it “might be curtains” for his AFL career, with his troublesome calf flaring up in their 58-point elimination final win over the Western Bulldogs.
The 32-year-old, who announced his retirement at the season’s end in August, had been carrying a calf strain since the first quarter and was visibly upset on Saturday when chaired off by teammates at Giants Stadium.
“Unfortunately, I cooked it in the first quarter. I had to do my bit and try to hang in for the boys and just do what I could. If we make it through, I might be a chance but it looks like it might be curtains,” Deledio said.
