Tristan Sailor is on track to play more NRL in 2020 after St George Illawarra finally re-signed the young gun on a one-year-deal.
The son of former NRL star Wendell Sailor will continue with the Dragons for at least the next season after making his first grade debut at halfback in 2019, going on to play fullback and wing.
The 21-year-old utility back was off-contract for next year but had been training with the squad in pre-season as he looks for more time in the top grade.
A rising star in his own right, Sailor has played representative football as a junior before getting a taste of NRL at the back end of the season with three games and a try on debut in round 23.
“It means a whole lot to remain a Dragon after coming through the Dragons’ junior system here,” Sailor said.
“Being able to debut last year and continue my journey is great especially since I live local and attend the University of Wollongong.
“I’ve been able to show I’m capable of playing a number of positions now, having also experienced different positions in the NRL, so I’m looking forward to continuing that through to 2020.”
Sailor’s commitment comes after the Dragons announced the addition of Trent Merrin and Issac Luke for 2020.
