South Sydney have confirmed the re-signing of star five-eighth Cody Walker until the end of the 2022 season.

The 29-year-old was off-contract at the end of next NRL season but officially put pen to paper with the Rabbitohs on Wednesday.

Walker is now in the running to replace Sam Burgess as Souths captain, with general manager Shane Richardson hinting at an increased leadership role over the next two seasons.
