The Adelaide Oval will play host to an intriguing fixture between the Strikers and Perth Scorchers tonight.
Thick haze in the nation’s capital forced a premature end to the Strikers’ season-opener on Friday but before that happened, they managed to compile a healthy 161 with the bat. Adelaide’s top order all looked reasonably steady and like a lot of their competition, they will surely improve for the hit-out.
The Scorchers atoned for a disappointing first-up loss with a smart win over the reigning champion Renegades on Saturday and will be eager to build off that result, when they arrive in Adelaide. Captaincy seems to be suiting Mitch Marsh, who claimed Man of the Match honours.
Returning home for the first time this season and with the prospect of playing a full match, I’m happy to be with the Strikers.
