Tigers, Storm finalise NRL swap deal

Melbourne Storm and Wests Tigers have finalised the NRL’s first player swap deal with Paul Momirovski and Harry Grant to trade places for the 2020 season.

Momirovski was sideline in a Storm polo shirt to meet club officials while his new team warmed up at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday night.

The club confirmed the 23-year-old centre would return to Melbourne with his new teammates on a chartered flight following the game.

Meanwhile, Grant is in Sydney and will attend Leichhardt Oval on Sunday to watch Wests Tigers take on Newcastle.

The 22-year-old hooker was named in Storm’s 21-man squad for their match against the Sharks and travelled to Sydney with the team on Saturday.

Both players will be eligible to play for their new teams in round three.

It puts an end to the drawn out trade process which has taken months to finalise with the NRL finally approving the deals.

The clubs are expected to announce the signings in the coming days.
