Melbourne pack leader Jesse Bromwich is expected to miss the Storm’s next three NRL games after joining a bulging injury list.
In some much-needed good news, playmaker Cameron Munster is tracking well to face the Titans at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Friday night.
Kiwi Test prop Bromwich suffered a knee injury midway through the first half of their win over Canberra, meaning he cannot face the Titans at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Friday.
“Unfortunately Jesse has a grade two medial which will keep him out for three to four weeks,” said Storm football manager Frank Ponissi.
“That’s a big loss for us.”
Two other props in Tui Kamikamica (back) and Max King (Achilles) are also sidelined.
“Tui injured his back up at Albury and he’s been having trouble with it since,” Ponissi said.
“He got to the point where he was back into full training a few days ago and unfortunately he’s injured it again and at this stage there’s no return date.”
Tom Eisenhuth was another casualty on Saturday night, going down with a hamstring injury during the warm up. He is also expected to be out for a couple of weeks.
Eisenhuth was replacing injured Origin backrower Felise Kaufusi, who along with winger Suli Vunivalu, must pass a fitness test to play the Titans.
Ponissi said halfback Ryley Jacks was battling a corked leg but was likely to play while on a positive note star playmaker Cameron Munster was in the mix
“He (Munster) was close to playing (in round 9) but in the end it was probably a week too early,” Ponissi said.
“If he continues to make the same progress he’ll have a test at the captain’s run but we’re not going to take any chances with Cameron so we’ll see how the week unfolds.”
