The AFC South title race heats up as the division-leading, 6-2 Tennessee Titans host the 5-3 Indianapolis Colts.

The Titans halted a two-game slide with a 24-17 defeat of the Bears last week, their defence standing up after disappointing performances in losses to the Steelers and Bengals. They held Chicago scoreless for the first three quarters, while Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry and AJ Brown spearheaded a solid offensive display.

The Colts – impressive winners in their previous two against the Bengals and Lions – went down to the Ravens 24-10 in Week 9. It was a lost opportunity, with a controversial interception call and a defensive drop-off in the second half costing the Colts. It was also a game to forget for Phillip Rivers after passing for six touchdowns in their previous two games.

The Colts have won 19 of their last 23 against the Titans. But honours were shared last season, with the Colts squeaking in 19-17 in Nashville before the Titans racked up a resounding 31-17 win in Indianapolis.

These teams will meet again in a fortnight. Expect the Titans to land a crucial first blow in their 2020 series in a tight one.
