Sydney’s wild weather spared the Victory from a (likely) Big Blue bashing on Saturday evening, however assuming the weather cooperates they will have to face the music against Wellington on Wednesday evening.

The Phoenix have shown signs of life and would feel hard done by to have taken just a solitary point from their last two outings.

Having been cruelly (but correctly) denied a draw against Western Sydney before another cruel (and maybe correct) no-penalty decision denied them a win against Brisbane, this is their chance to remove luck from the equation and pick up all three points.

While this is one of the few matchups the Victory have taken a point from this season, winning 2-0 in late February, I just can’t back the worst team in the A-League this season to win.

This is a “play it smart” decision and there’s no need to overcomplicate the bet.
