Sandown/Ladbrokes Park races Tips, Race Previews and Selections – 11/8/2021

Ladbrokes Park will host another eight-race program on Wednesday, August 11th.

The rail will be set out six metres around the entire course and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Soft (5) range.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?

Race 1 – 12:25pm – Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap (1500m)

Festivus will take winning form into the first at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday and can continue his rise through the grades.

The Team McEvoy-trained colt has only made two appearances at the races so far, but broke his maiden at Ballarat last time, and will take further improvement into this contest.

Race 2 – 1:00pm – Ladbrokes Cash In Handicap (1000m)

He clearly needed the run when he finished down the order at Flemington when resuming, but I’m confident that Fine Dane can run a big race at Ladbrokes Park this week.

The Danerich gelding has been a great horse for the John Moloney camp since making his debut, and he has typically contested Saturday metropolitan races throughout his career.

This is a drop in class, he should find a nice position in running in this small field and the 1000m is ideal.

Race 3 – 1:35pm – Ladbroke It! Handicap (2400m)

This is another open race and a tough one to analyse from a betting perspective, but I think that a horse like Lofty Heights has claims at a price.

He has jagged several decent races throughout his career, and Lofty Heights has returned a couple of competitive efforts in four starts back this time, including a credible third placing here, beaten less than a length two starts back.

He drops back in class from a Saturday race at Flemington and I like that Beau Mertens has elected to retain the ride.

Race 4 – 2:10pm – Ladbrokes Bet Ticker Handicap (1300m)

He’s The Reel Deel returned an eye-catching performance to win here when resuming, and he’ll only improve into this contest on Wednesday afternoon.

The Dundeel gelding has been a good horse for the Matthew Brown stable since making his debut, but his bullish performance here when fresh was the best of his career so far, and suggested that he has returned a better horse this time.

He has a fitness edge over a few key rivals, and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.

Race 5 – 2:45pm – IVE Print Handicap (1600m)

This is one of the better races on the program, but I’ve found it impossible to see past Mr Brightside once more.

Mr Brightside stripped fitter for a lovely run for second behind Toomuchtobear at Bendigo when fresh and hasn’t looked back, recording easy wins at Geelong and here at Ladbrokes Park.

He looks to be at peak fitness for this contest and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.

Race 6 – 3:20pm – Ladbrokes Punter Assist Handicap (1800m)

I’m going to give Tuvalu another chance third-up at Ladbrokes Park this week.

The Kermadec gelding flashed late to finish second, though well beaten by I’m Thunderstuck at Flemington when fresh, and he ran into the same horse at The Valley last time.

He isn’t going around in this race, and this horse is subsequently my best bet on the program.

Race 7 – 3:55pm – Ladbrokes Easy Form Handicap (1300m)

This is a decent rise in class for Quintello, but her resuming effort at Warracknabeal was nothing short of outstanding, and I’m confident that she can make a successful transition to metro grade.

The Intello mare didn’t show a lot in her short debut prep, but she kicked clear in the country a couple of weeks ago and greeted the judge nearly five lengths ahead of her rivals.

I’m confident she’ll take plenty of improvement for that hit-out, and she can win again.

Race 8 – 4:30pm – MRC Membership Renewal Handicap (1000m)

This is a tough way to end the day from a betting perspective, but I’m confident that Mosscon can run another competitive race.

Mosscon returned to the races with a lovely effort to win in BM64 company at Warrnambool, and she franked that effort by winning again at Cranbourne.

There is no doubt that this is another rise in class, but fitter third-up, I think she has claims, and we can have an each-way play at the price.
