Anthony Mundine friendless against Daniel Geale

Daniel Geale has become the subject of a plunge at Sportingbet Australia as money continues to pour in for the Tasmanian boxer to defeat Anthony Mundine in Wednesday night’s IBF Middleweight title fight in Sydney.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said more than 70% of bets taken on the fight have been for Geale and he’s been backed from $1.45 into clear cut $1.30 favouritism.

“It’s been one-way traffic for Geale while Mundine has been pretty much friendless with punters,” Sullivan said.

“We’ve already taken two significant 5 figure bets on Geale to win and we are expecting more to come as the fight gets closer,” Sullivan said.

Mundine’s odds have drifted from $3.00 out to $3.45 over the past week and he was as short as $2.65 when betting on the fight opened last year.

Geale has also been well backed from $5.50 into $4.50 to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification.
