Race 1 – 12:55pm – Benchmark 70 Handicap (1400m)

Decent Raine is a talented young filly who has been racing consistently right through this long campaign.

She followed a 3.5 length win at Ballarat without a narrow defeat at Listed level last start and she can get our day off to a winning start in the first.

Race 2 – 1:30pm – 2YO Handicap (1200m)

There are many first starters in the second race of the day for the young ones and I’m happy to sit back and watch them go around.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 2

Race 3 – 2:05pm – Benchmark 70 Handicap (1100m)

I was impressed with the debut win of Swerving at Geelong and she can make the step up to city grade in the third race of the afternoon.

She won that maiden by half a length but they beat home the third horse by 3.25 lengths and with natural improvement she can measure up here.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 3

Race 4 – 2:40pm – Benchmark 70 Handicap (1100m)

Yulong Defence has managed three wins from eight career race starts and has a fair amount of upside going forward.

The four year old was doing his best work late to finish on the heels of the winner at Pakenham last start and this is a step down in class from that.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 4

Race 5 – 3:15pm – Benchmark 70 Handicap (1600m)

Riotous Mischief is a mare in good form putting together three wins in a row to kick start this prep.

She then headed to The Valley where she was narrowly denied in a photo finish over 1600m.

This race does not look much tougher than that one and she has drawn to get a nice run in transit from barrier four.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 5

Race 6 – 3:50pm – Benchmark 84 Handicap (2000m)

The Busuttin and Young trained Laundy has been placed in 11 of his 21 career race starts and again looks well situated in this event.

He followed a win at The Valley over 1600m with a narrow defeat at the same track at 2000m last time out.

He will be nearing peak fitness now at his fourth run this prep and represents good value at his current price.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 6

Race 7 – 4:30pm – Listed Lord Stakes (1700m)

Bonvicini is yet to break through for a win so far this prep but the now five year old has been racing well.

She was beaten by less than half a length in the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes at Caulfield at her last start over 1800m and she lost few admirers.

In this contest she will be asked to carry just 54kg and the 1700m looks like the ideal distance for her.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 7

Race 8 – 5:10pm – Listed Christmas Stakes (1100m)

Marabi has been flawless so far in her four starts career winning all four by a combined 22.5 lengths.

The lightly raced five year old mare has worked her way up through the grades well and gets her chance in black type company now.

The daughter of I Am Invincible is a speed machine and she gets the added benefit of Jamie Kah in the saddle for the first time.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 8

Race 9 – 5:50pm – Benchmark 78 Handicap (1400m)

Excelida has been far from disgraced in black type company at her last two starts which includes a second behind Rich Hips at Group 3 level at Flemington three weeks ago.

She has been placed in four of seven starts at 1400m and if she can overcome the tricky draw, she is a chance in the last.

Bet Now: Caulfield Race 9
