The ‘Gades and the Heat find themselves at opposite ends of the ladder heading into Wednesday’s clash in Geelong.  

Melbourne has started a red-hot 2-0 with wins over this same Heat side and the Sydney Thunder, while Brisbane has enjoyed a five-day break following last Thursday’s loss at the Gabba.  

It’s tough to read too much into one game, but it was obvious Melbourne’s top order will prove a handful for most teams this season  

The opening partnership of Sam Harper and Nic Maddinson set the tone nice and early, while Akeal Hosein was enormous taking three wickets and allowing only 15 runs.  

The Heat are still working things out with the bat, so it’s hard to entertain them as outsiders in just their second game in Geelong.
