The Bombers came crashing back to earth last week with their first loss of the season to the Saints, but there were plenty of positives to take away if you’re Brad Scott.

A game like that should do wonders for a young list, and there are plenty of likeable signs about youngsters Jye Caldwell, Alwyn Davey Jr, and Sam Durham.

The Giants were also left licking their wounds following a controversial loss to Carlton. GWS was arguably the better team during the first half, but some inefficiency inside 50 and a one-sided ruck battle in favour of the Blues went a long way toward the loss.

As far as this game goes, Giants fans can rest easy knowing they’ve won four straight over the Bombers, and given the form Toby Greene and Jesse Hogan have been in, the pair should be able to give Essendon’s back-line plenty of problems.

Last week, the Bombers committed some crucial errors from their own inside 50 that results in goals off turnover, and there’s no reason the Giants can’t make them pay in similar fashion.

This is another game that could really swing either way, but with the Giants sporting a handy 2-0 record at the line as the away underdog against Essendon, I like them to cover with a two-goal head start.
