It was a really good litmus test for Carlton last week against the Brisbane Lions.

Unfortunately for the Blues, they failed that test.

After a really promising start to season 2023, the Blues have now lost three of their four to sit in eighth spot.

They thumped the Eagles by 108 points the prior week, which made that loss even more disappointing but they get another chance against a team above them on the ladder.

The Dogs have won four of their last five to sit in seventh but those four wins have come against sides all below them on the ladder.

They are the only team in the top 11 of the ladder to have had more points scored against them then they have scored themselves proving they have some issues forward of center.

I’m envisioning a low scoring affair and a close margin.
