Big changes for the Rabbitohs with Cameron Murray, Jye Gray and Dean Hawkins injured. Latrell Mitchell returns, Dion Teaupa will debut at halfback and Gehamat Shibasaki comes in on the wing. Siliva Havili starts at lock and Matthew French is another debutant from the bench.
Souths have won 18 of their last 23 against St George Illawarra. Last seasons series was split the Dragons beat an under-strength side 36-30 at Kogarah in Round 15 (the Saints last win at that venue), while the Rabbitohs prevailed 26-14 in Round 24.
All eyes will be on Mitchell after a four weeks on the sidelines, but a turnaround has to start with Souths struggling pack, some impetus from Cody Walker and Damien Cook, and a collective commitment to defence which has been continually embarrassing all season.
Theres certainly more grit and intent about the Dragons and they should take this gift-wrapped opportunity to get back on track against a patched-up, strife-torn line-up with both hands.
