Its a clash that pits two out of form teams struggling to impose themselves against each other, offering up a real toss of the coin on Friday night.
The Power couldnt assert a lot of dominance over a severely weakened Richmond side at home until the fourth quarter, whilst the Blues continued to play with a lot of uncertainty against the Roos, scraping home.
We already got a taste of this fixture a few months back where the Blues went to Adelaide and rolled the Power in the fourth quarter.
Port has quite a big advantage playing the Blues off a five-day break, and they typically play Marvel well, with only one game this year where they just beat the Saints.
The Blues have been conceding quite heavily and sit in the bottom four in the competition for points against, which is going to become an issue against assertive sides in the back end of the year.
The Power get outworked from contest to contest quite easily, and dont enjoy a lot of contested footy, which is where the Blues beat them last time.
Its clear when Charlie Dixon gets going, the Power becomes instantly more competitive, and they need him to fire to take the reliance off Mitch Georgiades.
If the Blues can stop the midfield scoring, they should be able to lockdown enough defensively to always stay within touch.
A home crowd at Marvel certainly helps, and taking a punt on the Blues off a short break is risky, so backing in the close margin helps to meet in the middle.
