It’s been a season to forget for the Pies, who crumbled to their worst last week against the Hawks, utterly embarrassed.

But weirdly, sitting in 18th is a team that wouldn’t be too disheartened with their season, and have put up a fight almost every week.

There is no reason the Tigers can’t cause a major upset, although in the Pies form, an upset maybe be disrespectful to the Tigers, who went to Adelaide and battled hard for three quarters against a top eight side.

There is no defensive element to the Pies structure, which makes them so vulnerable in every centre clearance lost, and fast break against them, which makes any team a chance against them.

Richmond’s forward pressure has been a highlight of their game throughout the year, and if they’re able to work hard contest to contest they should get opportunities falling their way.

Both sides rank in the bottom four for inside 50s, but the Tigers are last in the competition for average marks inside 50, which will be the difference if they can’t convert their opportunities.

The class difference is also an issue the Tigers face weekly, and whilst they’re likely to make it a close contest, the Pies will likely outclass them at some point.

The Pies season has turned embarrassing, but you never know, it only takes one game to change everything.
