Easily the marquee game of the round between two sides playing with completely different aspirations this late in the season.
Winners of six straight, the Giants are the in-form team in the competition after knocking off Brisbane at the Gabba last Saturday, another impressive performance down the stretch from Jesse Hogan after his team fell behind early.
On the other hand, the Dockers suddenly look as though they might miss out entirely.
A week ago, Freo emerged as a potential Grand Final dark horse, but with a tough run home and just two wins from their last five, the Dockers simply need to win out from here to ensure their spot.
No margin seems insurmountable for the Giants right now, but I do query their slow starts to games against Hawthorn and Brisbane in back to back weeks.
They are clearly a well-coached team that adjusts after each break, but they seemingly had no answers in the first quarter last week before Brisbane shot themselves in the foot.
You could argue Freo is less of a threat compared to the Lions, but they have been the second-best team all year when it comes to winning the first half of footy.
Needing a win and more than capable of matching GWS run through the midfield, Im siding with the Dockers to keep their chances alive.
