Pink Ribbon Cup 2013 day Tips – Caulfield racecourse

Caulfield will host an eight race meeting on Saturday which will be headlined by the Pink Ribbon Cup where Peter Moody trains the current favourite for the race. Caulfield is expecting a big crowd due to Black Caviar being paraded for her farewell after being retired on Wednesday.

The day looks to be a good one for punters with plenty of good value runners.

Race One: Visvanathan Memorial Plate 1000m Form Guide

Back Me: Kiss A Rose won very well on debut over the same track and distance. There will be a lot of speed in the race again which will help her running pattern and looks very well placed and at very good odds.
Don’t Back Me: Dalton will have to carry the top weight in the race and will be having his first start in Victoria so i am happy to risk him here.
Big Danger: Samarmeteors will be having her first start and if she’s close to being as good as Samaready she will be winning this.
Roughie:Moparee won on debut in a pretty quick time so the $31 on offer looks overs.

Race Two: Victorian Hardwood Floors Hcp 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Champagne Ruby has won two from two second up and likes the distance as well. With the claim she goes into the race with just 52kg on her back and will be very hard to beat despite the wide barrier.
Don’t Back Me: Spot On Maggie has won just the two races from eighteen starts which is a very poor strike rate so her current odds dont look to be very good.
Big Danger: Lucky Penny was awfully disappointing last start but has been given a good rest since. Won three from three before that and at her best would be winning here.
Roughie: No Manners won very impressively last start and despite going up in class here she can definitely win it at double figure odds.

Race Three: Story Landscaping Hcp 1800m Form Guide

Back Me: Zabisco had no luck last start and looks very well placed in this race. If he can get any luck here he should go very close.
Don’t Back Me: Whisper Downs ran well to get third in the Easter Cup although there were some unlucky runners behind him racing here and i think he is under the odds in the race.
Big Danger: Precedence is a class above these horses and despite not being suited over the distance class can go a long way and i wouldn’t be surprised if he won the race.
Roughie: King Diamond’s run last start was very good and will improve her. Currently a $12 chance and from barrier one wont do any work during transit. Watch for him late.

Race Four: Vintage Photobooths Plate 1100m Form Guide

Back Me: African Pulse was super impressive last start when he won very easily. He gets in well with the weight’s here with the claim of Tom Sadler and should be making it two from two this preparation.
Don’t Back Me: Didntcostalot is a talented horse but has a lot of problems. I think he is a massive risk at the odds.
Big Danger: Amaethon was beaten by African Pulse last start but he looks the biggest danger. With more speed in this race his racing pattern will be better suited on Saturday.
Roughie: Dusty Star loves Caulfield and his first up record is good despite no wins. Likely to go back in the field and will be hitting the line strongly.

Race Five: Cath White Memorial Hcp 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Hazard has been carrying big weights and winning in similar company. Goes very well fresh and gets in the weights much better on Saturday. Take the $10 now as i think she will start much shorter come race time.
Don’t Back Me: Elite Elle won well at Moonee Valley last start but she had all of the favours with a very easy lead and the leader bias that Moonee Valley gives i think at even money she isn’t a good bet but coud certainly win.
Big Danger: Ava’s Delight beat home Super Cool last preparation and despite being over unsuitable distance should be in the finish and is at huge odds.
Roughie: Formidable’s run last start in a tougher race had some merit and i think against an easier field here looks good value at $26.

Race Six: 7-eleven Pink Ribbon Cup 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Offenders ran very well first up behind Ready To Rip which looks a good form race. He gets in well with the weights and will get a good run during transit.
Don’t Back Me: Centennial Park jumps up sharply in the weights and his record over the ditance isn’t very good so at the odds he looks bad value.
Big Danger: Club Command is the deserving favourite in the race and should go very close although at the odds Offenders looks a better bet.
Roughie: Parthian has a good record over the distance and wont have to spend much energy from barrier 1 throughout the race.

Race Seven: Abigkid.com Plate 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Murcielaga had no luck last start and once clear hit the line well. He is very lightly raced and this race looks very winnable the only concern is the inside barrier and may need a little luck.
Don’t Back Me: Royal Island goes up in the weights and has drawn barrier 19 which is a massive task for any horse.
Big Danger: Electric Fusion has been ticking along nicely and finds a very suitable race here and with the weight drop should go close.
Roughie: Underestimation will have to carry the top weight but his first up run against a good field was very good despite having no luck. Should go close if he can run up to that again.

Race Eight: Echucamoama.com Hcp 1800m Form Guide

Back Me: Castlzeberg is a Group 2 winner in New Zealand and ran third in the NZ Derby behind Habibi who is favourite in the Australian Oaks. He will have to carry the top weight but the claim will help and he looks very hard to beat here in a much easier race than what he has faced.
Don’t Back Me: Sweet As Bro won well last start by a long distance but it was a Rating 58 at Kyneton. He has drawn very wide and at the odds he looks well unders.
Big Danger: Subiaso ran well in the Australian Guineas behind Ferlax and outside of the favourite looks the best chance in the race.
Roughie: King Of Olympia has shown a lot of talent although hasn’t gone on with it. Gai Waterhouse brings him to Victoria to change things up and if it helps he is right in this at good odds.

$250 Castlzeberg Free Bet

Best Bet: African Pulse was super impressive last start and meets a relatively similar class field. You wont get any big odds for him but he should be winning and winning well.

Next Best: Murcielaga has by far the best form heading into the race and was very unlucky last start. The big field provides good each way value and with some luck from the inside barrier should win well.

Best Roughie: Hazard is very well placed here and her first up record is great. The favourite looks way too short after having a lot of favours last start.
