Australia’s Ashes campaign has hit rock-bottom according to punters after the sacking of coach Micky Arthur.
“The punters have been throwing their money on the Poms since Australia’s coach was sacked on the eve of the Ashes series,” Centrebet’s Michael Felgate said
“England was a short-priced favourite before the sacking but we have seen another wave of money after Arthur was given the boot.”
England has firmed from $1.45 into $1.35 for an Ashes series win at home while Australia is out to $4.75.
England has also been heavily backed to win the First Test from $2.15 a week ago into $1.90. Australia has drifted from $3.50 out to $4 with the draw also supported at $3.25.
“Ex-pat supporters have also jumped on a series white-wash of the Aussies with a 5-0 England win backed into $9,”
“The Poms would love nothing more than sticking it up the Aussies on home soil and there have been plenty of them putting their money on a hometown clean sweep,” Felgate said.
