The big punters have opened their wallets and heavily backed Queensland from $1.50 into clear-cut $1.45 favourites with Sportingbet to win State Of Origin game 2 at Suncorp Stadium tonight.
“We’ve taken a significant number of 5 figure bets for the Maroons to win and there’s been hardly a cent for the Blues,” Sportingbet Australia spokesman Andrew Brown said.
“One of our punters has had $50,000 at $1.48 on the Maroons to win and another $30,000 at $3.65 on the Queenslander’s to win by 13 points or more,” Brown said.
The odds of a Blues victory in game 2 have drifted from $2.72 to $2.85 at Sportingbet in the past 24 hours.
“For every dollar we take for New South Wales, we’re taking ten dollars for Queensland,” Brown said.
“Punters are so confident it’s Queensland’s day, we had one punter wanting to parlay Billy Slater for man of the match into Kevin Rudd for PM!”, Brown said.
Greg Inglis has been backed from $8 into $7 at Sportingbet to score the first try, with one punter placing a $2,000 bet on that option.
Sportingbet is offering a 100% bonus in their Origin 2 first tryscorer market.
