Victoria to bat first against Redbacks

Fourth-placed Victoria have won the toss and will bat first in fine conditions in Monday’s Sheffield Shield clash with bottom side South Australia at the MCG.

Victoria named paceman Scott Boland as 12th man while spinner Aaron O’Brien will carry the drinks for the Redbacks.

In the third-last round of the season, Victoria are boosted by the return of Test quick Peter Siddle and Australia Twenty20 batsman Aaron Finch.

The pitch has a slight green tinge but is expected to dry out over the next four days with spinner Jon Holland to play a key role for the home side late in the game.

Teams:

Victoria: Cameron White (capt), Ryan Carters, Aaron Finch, Peter Handscomb, Jayde Herrick, Jon Holland, Andrew McDonald, Rob Quiney, Will Sheridan, Peter Siddle, Chris Rogers, Scott Boland (12th man).

South Australia: Michael Klinger (capt), Tom Cooper, Adam Crosthwaite, Callum Ferguson, Peter George, Travis Head, Joseph Mennie, Chadd Sayers, James Smith, Tomas Stray, Carl Tietjens, Aaron O’Brien (12th man).
