Cologne’s management say they have settled a dispute with Lukas Podolski after the star forward criticised club officials for failing to keep their promise to build a competitive team.

Podolski and his agent met with Cologne’s management on Monday, with the two sides saying that all issues had been resolved.

Podolski was told to support a charity project.

The Germany striker, who is currently out with a foot injury, had criticised the club in a newspaper interview.

Podolski’s contract runs out at the end of the season and there are signs he wants to leave.

The club are 12th in the Bundesliga after losing to Hamburg 1-0 at home on Sunday.
