Pomeroy to fight charge at NRL judiciary

Cronulla centre Ben Pomeroy has opted to front a NRL judiciary hearing, pleading not guilty to a dangerous throw charge.

Pomeroy will appear at a hearing on Wednesday evening, seeking to escape a one-match ban after being charged over a back slam tackle on Sydney Roosters fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck during the Sharks’ upset win on Monday night.

If banned, Pomeroy would miss fifth-placed Cronulla’s key penultimate round clash with seventh-placed North Queensland.
