Spring Group 1 racing and Flemington’s signature annual celebration of style will break out of the barriers tomorrow (Saturday) with Sofitel Girls’ Day Out featuring the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes.
The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) and Principal Partner Emirates will host a VIP event in the exclusive Emirates Mounting Yard Suite. Guests will include Miss World Australia 2011 Amber Greasley, model Monika Clarke and racing identities Nina O’Brien and Alison Saville.

Emirates Melbourne Cup favourite, Puissance de Lune, steps out in the Makybe Diva Stakes, to be run at the elite Group 1 level for the first time. The grey will face a quality field including Lloyd Williams’ Sea Moon, Mourayan and Masked Marvel, and Anthony Freedman’s German Derby winner Waldpark on Australian debut.
The Group 2 Danehill Stakes for the three-year-olds will see Gai Waterhouse’s Group 1 J.J. Atkins winner Romantic Touch taken on by Darley’s unbeaten colt Safeguard and David Hayes’ promising filly Gregers. The Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes for older mares will feature prominent gallopers Quintessential, Commanding Jewel and Crown Oaks champion Dear Demi.
