Melbourne winger Sisa Waqa will surprisingly be available for the Storm’s NRL elimination final against Newcastle after being cleared of a serious neck injury.
Ahead of their must-win AAMI Park match on Saturday night, Waqa was back at Melbourne training on Monday, running freely as he completed the drills.
Waqa landed on his head after being tipped from a considerable height by South Sydney’s Dylan Farrell as he attempted to collect a bomb during their 20-10 preliminary final loss on Friday night.
Storm medical officials used the medicab to transport him off the ground – he was then taken to hospital.
He had an MRI when he arrived back in Melbourne which gave him the all-clear.
He fortunately didn’t suffer any concussion in the fall.
“He’s in an around the club and I think he’s been given the all-clear in terms of severe damage,” said Storm teammate Cooper Cronk.
“He’s in good spirits.”
