Dockers to meet Hawks in AFL grand final

Fremantle will meet Hawthorn in next Saturday’s AFL grand final after the Dockers beat Sydney by 25 points in last night’s preliminary final at Patersons Stadium.

Fremantle kicked five unanswered goals in the second quarter to set up the 14.15 (99) to 11.8 (74) victory, with Nat Fyfe and David Mundy starring through the midfield.

Hawthorn beat Geelong by five points on Friday night to secure their own spot in the decider.

But the Hawks will be without Brendan Whitecross after the defender injured his knee against the Cats.

Fremantle will be sweating on the fitness of All-Australian defender Luke McPharlin, who received treatment on his adductor throughout the win over Sydney.
