Graham named Bulldogs’ NRL best in 2013

English prop James Graham has been named Canterbury’s player of the season at the NRL club’s awards night.

The 28-year-old, in his second year with the Bulldogs, won the Dr George Peponis Medal – voted on by his teammates and coaching staff – at a ceremony in Sydney on Thursday night.

Graham produced a workmanlike 306 hit-ups and 598 tackles across 18 games in 2013, a disappointing season for the Bulldogs who exited in the first week of the finals after making last year’s premiership decider.

Fellow front-rower Aiden Tolman won the coach’s award while departing back-rower Dene Halatau was presented with the Les Johns Medal as clubman of the year.
