The Australian Turf Club’s midweek meeting at Newcastle has become the latest victim of the wet weather.

The seven-event card set down for Wednesday was abandoned on race morning after close to 60mm of rain fell on the Broadmeadow track overnight.

The wet summer in NSW has caused havoc for race meetings across the state.

Newcastle is the second meeting the ATC has lost this month after the Warwick Farm program scheduled for last Saturday week was called off due to the unsafe state of the track.
