The Group 1 Caulfield Cup will be run at Caulfield racecourse today with the start time set for 5:45pm which will be the tenth and last race on the day.
Hawkspur is currently the favourite in the race but has continued to drift since the barrier draw was conducted on Wednesday morning in which he drew barrier 16.
Good money has come for Jet Awaywho opened at $11 but has been backed into his current quote of $9 in the market whilst Silent Achiever has also been backed heavily today and is currently a $7.50 chance.
Royal Descent who will start as the second favourite in the race has had small amounts of backing and is a $6.50 in betting three hours out from the race.

Horses at long odds who have been backed include:
Glencadam Gold who has shortened from $51 into his current quote of $41 and will most likely be racing on the speed throughout the race which could be an advantage with how the track has been playing early on in the day.
Mr Moet has been a notable shortener at odds in the Caulfield Cup with his odds tumbling in from $26 into $19 and has continued to receive constant support throughout the day and is likely to start shorter come race time.
Fawkner has been solid throughout betting and money continues to come for him on race day with his odds now into $13 from his opening quote of $15.
Kelinni opened at $67 in betting and has been specked into his current quote of $51. He is an out and out stayer and those backing him know he will run the trip out well but he may not have the turn of foot to win today.
My Quest For Peace doesn’t have the form coming into the race but this lightly raced galloper has attracted a lot of support from long shot punters which has seen the $51 opening odds snapped up with his current odds being at $31.
Julienas has been Gai Waterhouse’s best backed runner in the race and he has stepped up through the grades nicely this preparation. He gets a weight relief from what he was carrying against easier company and with a good ride he could be a good each way prospect.
Top Tip:
Despite the drift in the market Hawkspur remians our top tip in the race and he will be very hard to beat with what looks to be good speed in the race he will be able to settle out the back and hit the line strongly.
Follow The Money:
The money has continues to come for Jet Away and Silent Achiever and are arguably the best backed runners in the race outside of the favourite who still has received a lot of support despite drifting.
Long Shots:
If you are looking for a long shot in the race that has been well supported in betting and looks a good winning chance than you cant look past the following horses: Julienas and Mr Moet.
