No Problem thwarts rivals’ Magic Millions Classic 2014 ambitions

There was a genuine irony when two-year-old No Problem dashed the Magic Millions Classic hopes of eight rivals at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Caloundra-trained No Problem ($6) scored by three-quarters of a length from Star Drop ($8) with a long neck to First Rain ($61) in the Coastal Tipper Hire Handicap (1200m).

The race was the final chance for eight youngsters entered for the Magic Millions Classic but it proved a washout.

Ironically, No Problem was sold for $100,000 at the Magic Millions Ready To Run Two-Year-Old Sales in October.

However, he had to be sold at a Magic Millions yearling sale to be eligible for the big race.

Trainer Len Treloar said he wasn’t worried about No Problem missing the Magic Millions Classic.

“He is not really a Classic-type horse. There is no doubt that he will be better over 1400 metres to 1600 metres,” Treloar said.

“We will keep him going and hopefully find some races at a suitable distance.”

No Problem is owned by Evan Hartley, the boss of the Dovedeen Pty Ltd syndicate.

“Evan hasn’t been well and this will be a real boost for him,” Treloar said.
