Exciting Penrith utility back James Roberts will miss the start of the NRL season after breaking his ankle in training on Friday.
The former South Sydney junior will undergo surgery on Monday to have the ankle pinned and is expected to miss at least the first half of the 2014 campaign.
The 20-year-old sat out the beginning of last season with a similar injury.
