For the third week in a row, the AFL may have saved the best for last.
The Crows survived a scare last week against the Hawks to win their fourth game in a row, Jordan Dawson starring once again with 24 disposals, a goal, and six tackles in the end.
Adelaide’s forward line was also on point, the duo of Taylor Walker and Darcy Fogarty combining for seven goals.
As for Collingwood, the top of the ladder could be up for grabs if things go their way earlier in the round.
The Pies prevailed in front of a mammoth crowd on ANZAC Day last week against the Bombers, roaring home thanks to some clutch late goals from Beau McCreery, Ash Johnson, and Jack Ginnivan.
It was another trademark Collingwood comeback from Craig McRae’s side, and they should feel right at home in Adelaide after downing St Kilda in a thriller only two weeks ago.
The Nick Daicos conundrum will be at the forefront of Matthew Nicks’ mind this week, but whatever the approach is, the Crows do have enough talent through the midfield to capitalise on any Collingwood turnovers and hurt them over the top.
Looking back, the Pies haven’t lost to Adelaide since 2016, but it’s worth noting two of their last three meetings have been decided by no more than five points.
Stats-wise, neither side has been particularly impressive when it comes to tackling, so this game might come right down to pressure.
The Crows have earned the right to call themselves a genuine finals contender, but the jury is still out on recent wins over Hawthorn, Carlton, and Fremantle.
Given the Pies’ recent run of Brisbane, St Kilda, and Essendon, they get the edge in what could be another thriller.
