Beware of the Hawks, it’s scary and it’s a team that seems hard to overcome in every contest they commit to.

But if the Hawks are to continue their journey to September, the task gets no harder than a trip to Adelaide to play the Crows on their fortress.

Adelaide produced a stunning fourth-quarter comeback against the Bombers, turning things on its head late to steal the win by two points, along with a nine-goal second quarter.

Hawthorn’s pace forward of centre has collapsed a lot of opposition defensive structures and that mantra shouldn’t give them a worry against the Crows who conceded 113 points against one of the weaker forward lines in the competition.

What makes the Hawks unique is they’re non-reliant on marks inside-50 and arguably more dangerous at ground level in open play.

The Crows won’t be easy-beats with all that being said, and they themselves piled a healthy 115-points against the Bombers and are unbeaten in their last two games at the Adelaide Oval.

Adelaide is proficient out of the centre stoppages and have been able to lift their intensity from contest to contest, ranking higher up for their tackle pressure.

The more the contest becomes a scrap, the more it favours the Crows, but it’s hard to see the Hawks taking enough pace off the ball for that to happen.

Form is where the value lies here, but in Adelaide, it’s a difficult call. With all this momentum and so much on offer, there is no time to lose for the Hawks.
