HAVING won two of its first three games to start the year, GWS has lost three straight to the Western Bulldogs, Adelaide and Gold Coast by an average of 44 points. Yet the Giants are undoubtedly more competitive this season, with Heath Shaw, Callan Ward, Adam Treloar and Stephen Coniglio impressing against the Suns. Next up they face a Port Adelaide side that sits atop the AFL ladder after six rounds following its drought-breaking win over Geelong on Sunday. Skipper Travis Boak, Brad Ebert and Kane Cornes are all in form and will provide a stern test for the young GWS line-up.
