The first showdown of 2024 has massive implications for both sides, more so the Power, but it also gives the Crows yet another chance of kickstarting a seemingly dead season.
The Crows got the job done comfortably against the Roos in Tassie last week which sits them at 2-5, whilst the 5-2 Power had trouble at times putting away St Kilda at home.
Adelaide did the double over Port last year and will without a doubt, be looking to replicate that feat in 2024 to retain bragging rights over their local rival.
The Crows love to exploit on turnovers, but that aspect of their game has been shut down by an effective opposition set up behind the ball.
Ports speedy midfield core has given them a plethora of inside 50 entries and allowed them to be masters of the stoppage, but its their defensive accountability that has been letting them down as of late.
The likely loss of Connor Rozee gives the Crows an advantage at the stoppages, and theyll be willing to generate drive out of the corridor and pepper the Power with inside 50 entries.
The Power know how to control the ball, which does work against opposition that struggles on set up behind the ball, however, the Crows can play one-on-one well and shut down uncontested play.
The pressure is all on the Power, and ultimately their inability to perform in big games will play a part in determining this one.
