Preview:

The last match of Round 11 is between the West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne, Sunday, 5.40PM at Patersons Stadium. Both of these teams have had
similar seasons so far, with the Eagles 4-5 in 9th ladder position and North Melbourne 5-4 in 8th. Despite this slight discrepancy, however, the Eagles will go into
this match as slight favourites. If you take a closer look at just how the Eagles won their four matches, however, you see that all four victories were against teams sitting 14th-17th on the ladder. In contrast, while the Roos have been inconsistent in 2014, they have beaten Port Adelaide, Sydney Swans at the SCG, and Fremantle at Patersons Stadium. If the Roos play as well as they can, they should be able to win this one.

News:

As far as punishments for dropping sitters go, this would be up there.

With the halftime siren imminent, West Coast AFL youngster Elliot Yeo dropped a gimme just out from the goal square, before being collected by Collingwood defender Jarrod Witts at the MCG on Saturday night.

The impact of the knock smashed Yeo’s two front teeth, prompting a halftime search for the missing incisors.

Yeo could see the funny side after his team’s eight-point loss, tweeting “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth…” but no doubt he’d agree with his coach Adam Simpson’s assessment.

“It was a big knock but he should have taken the mark,” Simpson said.

To his credit, Yeo emerged after the break and finished an impressive match with 19 touches and a goal.

“I don’t know if he was in a hell of a lot of pain or not, but he didn’t seem to take a backward step after it,” Simpson said.

The Collingwood coach said there might be more than one reason to head to the dentist on his return to the West.

“I think he rates himself too with the looks, so he’s going to have to get that fixed pretty quick,” he said.
